“This will enable a rapid and informed response to funding relief and recovery projects underway in partnership with Covenant and other Christian churches in the affected communities,” said Howard Burgoyne, conference superintendent.
David Husby, CWR director, noted that pastors already have expressed a need to provide assistance to low-income neighbors who have been forced to miss work due to the storm.
Churches in the affected areas who need assistance to extend help in their community can contact the East Coast Conference office for information on applying for a CWR relief/recovery grant.
Churches and individuals who wish to contribute can do so either through Covenant World Relief or through the East Coast Conference. Click here to donate online.
are there covenant churches on the east coast that were damaged by hurricane Sandy? will there be an organized effort to send mission teams to help in the coming months?

Carey, ECC church buildings have not been reported to suffer damage – but Covenant people in the area have been affected with damage to homes, loss of income, personal property damage, etc. The first and foremost need is for funds to help resource our churches directly (we have about 20 churches in the NYC/NJ Metro area) as they work in their own communities with relief/recovery efforts. See our Hurricane Relief page on our website with information on opportunities to volunteer in the coming weeks (eastcoastconf.org). Funds can be given through covchurch.org/cwr or eastcoastconf.org/give
