India Church Outgrows Worship Space
SAHARANPUR, INDIA – The 195 members of the local Hindustani Covenant Church have been meeting for worship at their pastor’s house.
However, there is limited space for them to keep meeting in the rented home and neighbors have been complaining about the large group of people attending. To make room for the growing congregation, the denomination has decided to plant a new church.
The proposed building will seat almost 300 members. It will be used weekdays for conducting prayer and youth meetings as well as other activities. Leaders also hope the building can be used to start a pre-nursery school for poor children whose families cannot afford high fees of standard schools in the city.
The facility also will provide space to serve as a parsonage.
