Gibson was born on May 16, 1922, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
During WWII, Gibson served in the Nurses Cadet Corps and graduated in 1945 from the Swedish Covenant Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. She also studied at North Park Bible Institute.
Gibson subsequently worked as a nurse missionary in Ecuador and South America. She and Marie Nelson opened the first Covenant medical clinic in Ecuador. She married Robert Gibson after leaving the mission field. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Gibson of South Bend, Kansas, and Kristine Woodworth, of new Carlisle, Indiana; and a son, Kenneth Gibson, of South Bend.
A private burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the local Evangelical Covenant Church’s memorial fund.
